Barbara and Tyler's Bright, Bohemian Wedding at Brik Venue in Fort Worth
Barb and Tyler met in their college band. Now, she’s a high school band director and he received his Master’s in music composition. A meet-cute like that is music to my ears.
They booked their venues early in their engagement, and she found her dress shortly thereafter, so when we started planning, we decided to center the design around her dress, shoes, and jewelry. We also drew inspiration from the Southwest, with lots of Terracotta, black accents, and cacti. Barb’s mom is an artist, and she made all the macramé for this wedding. We tied in her handiwork even more by having faux macramé piped on the cake. Ikebana arrangements in clay vessels, created a statement while balancing and softening the cacti. We hung pots of bougainvillea, snake plant, and the bridal bouquet over the head-table in macramé holders as an added punch. And because music is such an important part of their lives, guests signed vinyl records instead of a traditional guestbook.
